I am an Exoneree. An Exoneree is someone who was in prison for a crime they did not commit. The Ohio Innocence Project accepted my case and the attorneys with them were able to prove my innocence.
Since I’ve been home I’ve become involved with my community and I live each day focusing on my freedom and the simple things in life that I appreciate so much.
My first few months home I was fortunate enough to be able to donate one of my kidneys to my nephew which saved his life. They had accused me of taking a life, but they were so wrong. I am here to give life.
I travel the country sharing my story of wrongful conviction to be able to give life and light to all who may not understand the serious problem we have in this country,
speaking to attorneys and law students everywhere. My mission is to spread awareness of wrongful conviction. I am active with local government and regularly work with the City Councilpersons and Mayors and host annual block parties in my neighborhood where we provide back to school supplies and more for the neighborhood children.
I am also one of the founders of Voices of Injustice, a platform that uses the arts to raise awareness, as well as help families of those wrongfully convicted, and am the owner of the Exoneree House, a home that provides housing for wrongfully convicted individuals when they are released.
My aim is to bring hope and joy to others when I share my story of resiliency and strength, and how wrongful convictions happen and how they can be stopped. Book me here.
